SEEDs OF WONDER

Friday, December 6
8:00 AM, Pearl 1

Join us to learn more about how the Silverquicken Episodes for Enrichment and Diagnosis (SEED) program can help you bring both rigorous and fun learning into your classroom. This soon-to-be-released book, co-authored with Brian Housand, provides educators with 20-30-minute “SEEDs”—story-based puzzles, games, and activities that build problem solving, creativity, teamwork, and metacognitive skills that we know our gifted students need to thrive. Be among the first educators to experience the book, and learn how you can plant these SEEDs in your own classroom!

SPEED GEEKING

Thursday, December 5
4:30 PM, Salon G-M

We’re thrilled to be featured as one of the instructional strategies shared during Andi and Brian’s popular “Speed Geeking” session! Come learn how you can add a Cooperative activity, in the form of a strategic collaborative AND competitive game, to your Convergent and Divergent resources. Our quick demonstration of the Water Falcon game will be high-energy and informative, and we encourage you to download the shields and play it in your classroom!

PUZZLERAMA

Thursday, December 5
1:30 PM, Pearl 2

Join us for a hands-on workshop with puzzles and games that brings “fun rigor” into the classroom. Intrinsic motivation from doing fun, mysterious activities (ciphers, logic puzzles, visual/spatial games, nonograms, and more!) draws students in to tackle difficult challenges. Harness the power of fun to enhance your classroom rigor!
